About Us
Sponsored by the Living Donor Support Foundation, the Donor Games was established to bring together elite athletes who are also living kidney or liver donors in the spirit of rigorous competition. By competing in challenging workouts against non-donor athletes, the Donor Games helps to disprove the widely held misconception that donating a kidney can negatively affect an athlete’s health and physical abilities.
Donor Games Opens
Since 2020, Donor Games Open events have served as rigorous tests of physical fitness, encompassing everything from strength to endurance challenges. These events are held virtually, allowing registered athletes to compete from the convenience of their own workout spaces.
Donor Games Regionals
The Donor Games began offering regional in-person competitions in 2024, including West, Midwest, Lakes, and Southeast events.
Donor Games Championship
The Donor Games Championship is an annual in-person event that showcases elite donor athletes in a grueling series of workouts from Donor Games Open events. Athletes who are invited to compete in the Championship have a chance to make the podium and earn a cash prize.
Sponsored Athletes
In 2022, the Donor Games began sponsoring individual donor athlete events, highlighting the unique athletic abilities of donors in their chosen sports. Past sponsored events including the Kidney Donor Athletes (KDA) climb of Kilimanjaro, the Seven Summits, 1K4D (One Kidney Four Deserts), 1K12M (One Kidney 12 Marathons), the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to climb the highest point in every U.S. state, the Organ Trail, and the Source to City race.
